Overview

Willow Valley is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor to be responsible for coordinating and providing instruction to nursing assistants who are enrolled in the
Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program. (NATCEP).  The CNA Instructor works with the program administrator which oversees the administrative portion and curriculum development of the program. The CNA Instructor provides education to supportive living Team Members through in-services, competencies, and other forms of training, as required.

Wage:

  • From $29.00/hr + based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Models exemplary customer service and the MORE values towards Team Members and Residents.
  • Creates a positive, encouraging and educational environment for Team Members.
  • Supports consistency in operations and policies/procedures among Supportive Living communities.
  • Identifies areas of inconsistency and alerts Administrator and Vice President of Healthcare.
  • Implements the curriculum for the NATCEP Program.
  • Responsible for orientation, training and evaluation of nursing assistants who are attending the NATCEP Program.
  • Provides direct supervision for the nursing assistants who are giving care to Residents during clinical training.
  • Prepares nursing assistants to meet the requirement for state enrollment for the certification test.
  • Provides information to program administrator to prepare and submit the testing application for each nursing assistant.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the NATCEP Program.
  • Maintains files for NATCEP Program.
  • Provides ongoing assessment of the program through the use of participant evaluations and recommends changes, based on feedback.
  • Provides guidance to nursing aide trainees during their care partner internship, prior to entering the nursing assistant class.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with Team Members, Residents and family members.
  • Works with program administrator to provide input on updates to the theory and clinical program provided for newly hired nursing assistants.
  • Assists with education to Supportive Living Team Members through in-services, competencies, and other forms of training, as required.
  • Assists Supportive Living Educator with reviewing Relias course content and enrolling supportive living Team Members into Relias.
  • Assists with all-day orientation for all new supportive living Team Members prior to start date in department.
  • Provides input on RN/LPN skills and competencies.
  • Maintains an environment for accident prevention and Resident/Team Member safety.
  • Supports recruiting efforts for Supportive Living Team Members including participation with school advisory groups.

Qualifications:

 

  • Current unrestricted PA LPN license. 

  • At least two years nursing experience, with minimum of 1 year of experience in long-term care with a minimum of 200 hours over the course of one full year. “Teaching the Educator” certification or registration for this program. 

  • Experience in education/training, preferred. Knowledge of and appropriate responses to the physical and emotional needs and the behavioral issues of seniors.

  • Knowledge of infection control procedures, universal precautions, HIV, HBV, and other bloodborne and airborne pathogens and isolation procedures.

  • Knowledge and application of body mechanics

  • CPR certified, emergency and first aid administration and heat and cold applications.

  • Computer literacy including Word, Excel and Power Point.
