Willow Valley Communities wages are determined on an experience based pay scale.
Wages:
- $22.00-$25.25/hr, based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Assists with giving guidance to newly hired Nursing Assistants using proper procedures and protocol.
- Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skills within the scope of practice, included, but not limited to: Answers call bell lights, bells, or intercom system to determine Residents' needs in a timely manner.
- Bathes, dresses, and grooms (nail care, shaving, etc.) Residents, as part of activities of daily living.
- Toilets Residents according to schedule and as needed.
- Follows Country Kitchen/Assist Dining Room assignments, serves and collects food trays and feeds Residents requiring assistance.
- Understands the proper/safe use of a lift and uses lifts on Residents who require them.
- Documents ADLs in Point of Care (as part of Point Click Care system) timely and accurately, using provided devices.
- Transports Residents or assists Residents to walk. Utilizes wheelchair foot pedals appropriately when transporting and stores them in wheelchair bag or in Resident closet, when not in use.
- Turns and repositions bedfast Residents, alone or with assistance, to prevent skin breakdown.
- Takes/records temperature, blood pressure, pulse. respiration rates, and food/fluid intake and output, as directed.
- Completes nursing maintenance walking programs and restorative nursing as needed.
- Provides post mortem care.
- Performs PEEP rounds (pain, environment, elimination and positioning) on Residents that are a fall risk.
- Changes soiled linens and incontinent supplies appropriately to maintain infection control standards.
- Keeps Resident rooms neat, as well as utility, spa, pantry and dining rooms.
- Performs walking rounds with oncoming shift and reports given/taken at change of shift.
- Identifies and reports promptly any Resident skin care issues, medical or behavior concerns and or noted changes in Resident condition to the nurse.
- Initiates and participates, as appropriate, in Resident Therapeutic Engagement opportunities, including Linked Senior.
- Orients and mentors new CNA’s and assists to complete Orientation Checklists.
- Works with and collaborates with Lead CNA’s to adequately orient new CNA Team Members.
- Works with Clinical Managers to address CNA related issues requiring re-training and follow up.
- Participates in the oversight and completion of Annual Competency trainings.
