Overview

Willow Valley Communities is hiring an LPN to join our education department. As part of our team, this nurse will have primary responsibility for teaching our nurse aide training program, and will also provide various healthcare related education programs

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the team, develop and teach education programs to Team Members, which may include general orientation, skilled care orientation, licensed nurse education, basic life support instruction, dementia training, med tech program, etc.
  • Serve as the primary instructor for the NATCEP program. Follows all policy and procedures associated with the program. Collaborates with the team throughout the class, consistently works to improve methods and outcomes. Prepares students to pass their certification test.
  • Supervises students during their training.
  • Implements creative and effective teaching methods.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with Team Members, Residents and family members.

Qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted PA LPN license. 

  • At least two years nursing experience, with minimum of 1 year of experience in long-term care with a minimum of 200 hours over the course of one full year. “Teaching the Educator” certification required for this position. Certification may be obtained after hire.

  • Experience in education/training, preferred. Knowledge of and appropriate responses to the physical and emotional needs and the behavioral issues of seniors.

  • Knowledge of infection control procedures, universal precautions, HIV, HBV, and other bloodborne and airborne pathogens and isolation procedures.

  • Knowledge and application of body mechanics

  • CPR certified, emergency and first aid administration and heat and cold applications.

  • Computer literacy including Word, Excel and Power Point.

Hours:

  • 40 hrs/week

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, Day Shift hours
  • Occasional flexibility needed
