Barback – Southern Market (Lancaster City)
Willow Valley Communities (WVC) is looking for an energetic, motivated Barback to join our team at Southern Market in the heart of Lancaster City! As a Barback, you’ll play a key role behind the scenes—supporting bartenders, maintaining a clean and fully stocked bar, and helping deliver an exceptional guest experience from start to finish.

Pay: $18/hour
What You’ll Do
Before Service
- Keep the bar fully stocked and ready for service
- Prep and label garnishes (citrus, herbs, olives, Bloody Mary items, etc.)
- Juice fresh citrus and prepare squeeze bottles
- Refill ice wells, napkins, and bar supplies
- Change beer kegs and restock liquor bottles
- Maintain clean bar rags at each bartender station
During Service
- Clean glasses, dishes, counters, and spills promptly
- Assist bartenders as needed during busy service
- Collect empty glassware from the bar area
- Relays key info to security such as if a line is forming outside, if someone is drinking from an outside bottle, and if someone appears to be underage or too rowdy
- Help enter orders into the POS system when needed
- Communicate important observations to security
- Take out trash and recycling as needed
After Service
- Clean and reset the bar for the next shift
- Restock garnishes and bar containers
- Clean mats, floors, furniture, sinks, and glassware
- Put away liquor and beer deliveries
- Track opening or closing liquor inventory
What We’re Looking For
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Interest in growing bartending skills is a plus!
Schedule & Hours
36–40 hours per week
- Tuesday: 12:00pm-3:00pm
- Wednesday: 5:00pm–11:00pm
- Thursday & Friday 5:00pm-12:00am
- Saturday: 1:00pm-12:00am
- Sunday: 1:00pm–7:00pm
