As a Unit Clerk, you’ll be a vital part of daily operations—serving as a key connection point between Residents, families, clinical staff, and visitors while ensuring medical records and unit documentation are accurate, organized, and up to date.

Starting wage:
$17.00/hour


What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll support the nursing and interdisciplinary team by ensuring smooth administrative and clerical operations within the skilled care unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and assembling medical record charts for newly admitted Residents
  • Supporting admissions, discharges, and transfers, including paperwork and physician orders
  • Creating door tags, name tags, and ID bracelets for Residents
  • Photographing new Residents and maintaining current photos for identification systems
  • Filing hospital records and documentation accurately in Resident charts
  • Communicating census updates and room changes to appropriate Team Members
  • Scheduling physician appointments, notifying families, arranging transportation, and maintaining shared calendars
  • Preparing documentation packets for off‑site physician visits
  • Ordering supplies as requested by the nursing team
  • Completing daily and weekly nursing reports
  • Answering phones, greeting visitors, directing guests, and relaying messages
  • Distributing mail, newspapers, flowers, and menus to Residents
  • Processing lab and x‑ray requests under the direction of licensed nursing staff
  • Assisting with Resident safety efforts, including fall‑risk monitoring and redirection of wandering Residents (no hands‑on care unless qualified)
  • Supporting physician visits by prepping charts and consult materials
  • Managing physician orders, test results, dictation, and compliance tracking
  • Coordinating beauty shop appointments and maintenance requests
  • Creating memorial materials to honor deceased Residents with dignity and care

What We’re Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience using Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced healthcare environment while maintaining compassion and professionalism

Schedule & Location

  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
