Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (schedule may vary based on business needs, including some holidays)
Starting Compensation: $30/hour equivalent salary + based on experience
The Local Table, Willow Valley Communities' premier fine dining restaurant, is seeking a passionate and experienced Culinary Assistant General Manager. This role is ideal for a hospitality leader with strong front-of-house (FOH) management experience who enjoys developing teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving operational excellence.
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) serves as the primary support to the General Manager and plays a critical leadership role in the successful operation of the restaurant or dining venue. The AGM is responsible for assisting with the oversight of daily operations, team leadership, guest satisfaction, financial performance, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
The AGM works collaboratively with culinary and service teams to ensure exceptional dining experiences, operational excellence, and achievement of business objectives. This position requires a hands-on leader who effectively balances hospitality, employee engagement, quality standards, and fiscal responsibility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front-of-house (FOH) operations and support the Chef with back-of-house operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Ensure exceptional guest and Resident experiences through consistent hospitality and service excellence.
- Resolve guest concerns, complaints, and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of Team Members.
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop employees to support performance improvement.
- Assist with the preparation and management of employee schedules and staffing assignments.
- Monitor labor utilization and staffing levels to align with operational needs and budget expectations.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate operational goals, service priorities, and organizational updates.
- Provide oversight to onsite retail dining venues.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and service-oriented work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.
- Support employee performance management, recognition programs, and corrective action processes.
- Ensure all legal requirements are adhered to pertaining to the sale, service, and consumption of alcohol.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost management.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, health department, and workplace safety regulations.
- Open and close operations and balance cash drawers where applicable.
- Monitor equipment and facility conditions and coordinate maintenance needs as required.
- Participate in management meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or organizational leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or 3–5 years of related experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably within a restaurant environment, required.
- Strong front-of-house (FOH) restaurant management experience required.
- Experience leading teams in a full-service, upscale, fine dining, or hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop Team Members.
- Excellent guest service, communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as business needs require.
